In the book Hunger Games: Catching Fire, the main
character is Katniss Everdeen. She is very caring and she worries a lot for
others. She took Prim’s spot in The Hunger Games because she couldn’t bear to
see her die. Even though Katniss has a great personality and cares a lot for
others, I would not want to be her friend due to the risk of dying. In the situation
she is in right now, she is trying to run away from the capital to save her
families and friends before President Snow makes everything worse. If I become
her friend, that would mean I would also have to be on the run from the
capital, and there’s a higher chance of dying than surviving. One of Katniss’
friends, Gale, got viciously whipped until he lost conscious, and although
Katniss stepped in to stop the whipping, Gale still suffered a lot. For me
personally, I am too scared to jump into action and get involved in another
person’s business because I learned in middle school that drama always gets
carried away and it ends up making you awful, so I don’t compare to Katniss at
all. Katniss likes to hunt and she likes going on adventures, while I like
being indoors and I don’t like being very active, so we do not have similar
hobbies. If Katniss and I were friends, then it would fade away quickly due to
our lack of connections. Although I am a caring person, I care to a certain
extent, not to the point where I would put myself on the line to save someone
else. Katniss is either all in or all out, which is why she is an amazing
person. If I had the chance to spend time with Katniss Everdeen, then I would
not take it because of our lack of similarities and connections.
